I took a another class at Vine Gogh painting class, which located at Kimpton vintage hotel in downtown Portland this evening.
We learned painting on reclaimed wood shaped like Oregon state. So much fun learning it using 4 different acrylic paints.

No Looking Back, June 18, 2017

This is a lesson by Tim Gagnon, although I didn't  put the air balloon and a small girl in this. I also did my own clouds.
This painting uses limited numbers of colors (2 blues, brown and white). A little bit challenging for me but it was fun.
It's 18x24 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

It's been over 2 years since I made any stained glass. This time I made another fan lamp: Sailboat and made it sunset/night scene.

Mountain Aspen painting, September 4, 2016

This lesson is based on Tim Gagnon's online lesson called "Mountain Aspen". It's on 18x24 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

I finished the lesson but didn't like how my mountain looks at all. Somehow I couldn't see the difference between the sky and the mountain and also there was a rock mountain in front that  didn't show nicely. All looked lost.

Here is the first mountain that I did

Since I wasn't happy with the outcome, I redo my mountains, using different colors and techniques I learned from another painter. Here is the second and final version which I'm really happy with.

It took 8 hours for this painting to finish due to redo the whole mountain, but it was really worth it :)

Night Sky Clouds painting, April 10, 2016

I've been wanting to paint a night sky with puffy clouds. Sounds simple but took a lot of layering to paint from dark background to the white. It was fun learning this from Tim Gagnon, one of my favorite painters.

This is done on 11x14 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

Weathered Barn, Mar 6, 2016

Decided to paint 'weathered barn' from Jerry Yarnell's lesson on 16x20 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paints.
I love old and weathered looking barn so this painting was perfect. The challenge I had with this painting was the wagon. It was a learning for me to put the wagon in front of the barn and learned the perspective and angle to make it right.

First Engraving project, Aug 4, 2015

I was given an engraving art set over the weekend and tried it for the first time in my life.
It was fun yet I need to learn more on how to do it as my pressure sometimes a bit too hard and sometimes too light.

Either way, I'll continue to learn and do more fun projects. Here it is the engraving done.
I think it's Elk and it's on 8x10 inches board.

June 21, 2015 Blue Heron Painting

Today I decided to paint from one of my favorite painters, Tim Gagnon's lesson.
I love Blue Heron. For Chinese, heron represents strength, purity, patience, and long life. This is my second effort of painting Heron again. I painted the first one from Brenda Harris' book sometime in January this year but wanted to paint a portrait-like this time.

It was so much fun layering colors over and over so many times to make it looks real and soft feather-like.

This is done on 16x20 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

June 14, 2015 Wet day to Pray

I followed the "Inspiration of Painting" by Jerry Yarnell's video for this painting. It's called "Wet day to Pray", a beautiful country church with puddles of water on the driveway and although the sky looks overcast, we could see there is a sun ray across.

This painting is done on 16x20 inches of stretched canvas using acrylics.

June 12, 2015 Hawaiian Horizon Painting

I took this painting class done by Vine Gogh. This painting is called Hawaiian Horizon and it's one on 16x20 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

It's been a while since I went to this kind of painting class, probably over a year ago. But it's kind of nice to do something spontaneous once a while, spending Friday night out, painting something pretty.

May 31, 2015 Reminders of the Past painting

This is my third lesson I did on Jerry Yarnell online school.
It's called "Reminders of the Past" on 16x20 inches stretched canvas.
It's using acrylic paints.

I love this lesson because I love old weathered woods and how simple yet serene the background is.

May 31, 2015 Oriental Butterfly Cross Stitch

I wanted to learn how to make cross stitch panel. So on May 3rd, 2015, I purchased a very beginner 3inchx3inch owl cross stitch kit.
I also purchased a 10x10 inches "oriental butterfly" kit and decided to make that as a gift. After learning the owl for few days, I decided to abandon that and started the butterfly one.

Took me 18 days to finish this panel and gave this for a birthday gift.
It was fun but such a time-consuming project since I wanted to finish it quickly.

May 17, 2015 City Nightscape painting

This is my second Yarnell Online school class that I took. It's called Parade of lights, but to me it's just a city nightscape.

I really love painting this because I was able to create so many details and shaped of each buildings that I want. kind of creating my own "city".

This painting is done on 15x30 inches stretched cotton canvas and using acrylic paints.

May 9, 2015 Multnomah Falls painting

Ever since I started painting a year ago, I wanted to paint multnomah falls, the beautiful falls in Oregon.
I then looked at the classes around but none was pretty enough for my taste.

Then I joined Yarnell Online school and finally painted this with a help of google image for reference also. I learned a lot, including how to make my painting looks misty and water splatting using toothbrush.

This is done on 18x24 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

April 21, 2015 Minions painting

I love minions from Despicable Movies. They make me smile.
So, I decided to paint them. Not really my type of painting, but still refreshing and fun thing to do.
This painting is on 12x24 inches of stretched canvas using acrylic paints.

Now, what I need to do is waiting for the Minions movie in July and find out their names.
