I wanted to make glasses of milk and cookie beads and it turned out cute. My boy always dunk his chocolate chip cookies into his milk so these beads remind me of him.
Also I made a vessel that I usually use to hold sake and put it into microwave to warm it.
Turned out not bad for the first time making it.

I saw tutorial at Beads of Courage and wanted to try making car beads. It was really fun and although not perfect, it's for kids and I hope they don't see too much flaws in my cars.
I tried to make one with "rust" on it, regular car and ofcourse pick up truck. It was really fun making these and will make more in the future.

Home Sweet Home Stained Glass, Feb 8 - Apr 6, 2014

We've been hit with Snowstorm the last 3 days. I'm feeling antsy at home but I don't know how to drive my van on the snow. So, I decided to challenge myself and make the biggest and the most pieces of stained glass I've ever made so far.. ha ha.. (I should go out more often)..
Anyways, I decided to make this panel called Home Sweet Home from Glass Patterns magazine, probably about 10x16 inches big and over 200 pieces of glass.. Yikes (the most pieces I've ever made is less than 36).

This is the journey of this panel:

Day 1:  Decided on the project and did phase 1 of cutting the first 40 pieces of glass. 6-hour of work from tracing and cutting the pattern to cutting the glass.

Day 2: Another day stuck at home with freezing rain outside. I cut and grind 38 pieces of glass and cut few more patterns for the next phase. I worked for about 3.5 hours today.

Day 3: It's Monday and there is still no school for the boys due to the slow thawing of the ice.I didn't want to take chance of driving in the morning so I was able to cut 38 more pieces of glass for my Home Sweet Home early in the morning and an hour before bed. I spent about 3 hours today, with 38 pieces of glass being cut.

Day 4: Feb 11, 2014: I traced and cut only 23 pieces of glass on the top right part. The top part of this will be tedious and tiny pieces so I'll do little parts each so I won't get too overwhelmed.

Day 5-8, March 9-11, 2014: I cut the rest of the pieces, then fine grind a lot of pieces so all of them fit into the frame. Tedious job but so glad it's done. The next step is to take each pieces out and clean them with alcohol before foiling them.

Finally, I finished  foiling all the pieces and put them together. Took me a while and not so easy with pieces that ended up too big or too small.

After almost 2 months making this project, it's DONE!!! It measured about 9x12 inches.

I have little crystal clear frits that I want to use to make snow cone beads.
I tried it yesterday and it was fun so I made 3 "flavors".

Bell Flowers Headpins, March 28, 2014

I learned to make bell flowers headpins yesterday. It's very small, only 12 mm.
Another new learning of putting glass directly into Nickel Silver wire. Very fun and I'm sure I'll make a lot more of these.

New GTT Bobcat Torch, Mar25,14

I've been using a fake HotHead torch from India for a year. It was a great start in learning lampworking and it only cost $15.00. I want to learn more about lampworking and work in a lot of details and my Hothead won't do it for me. I was supported my a friend and got a new GTT Bobcat torch which uses dual fuel (Oxycon, which is being built) and propane.  Ofcourse I  picked custom color of wild sparkle pink :)
I can't wait for another 3 weeks or so until my Oxycon is done and starting a new journey of  learning lampworking more.

I tried making caterpillars from Soda Lime Times yesterday. It was fun making them and I plan to make more. But here they are from yesterday's batch. I think I should make their heads bigger :)

Pink Boot, Mar 11, 2014

I wear boots everyday to work and on weekends almost 9  months of the year (except Summer).
I love boots :)  So I tried to torch a boot bead last night. I actually  made 2 boots (black and pink), but the black one didn't turn out so good because it was my first bead. I do love my pink one though.

Mar 9, 2014 Silly Monsters and Bunny Rabbit beads

I wanted to do something fun making beads yesterday and decided to make "silly monsters" beads and white bunny rabbit bead. It was really fun doing it although kind of hard to put all the "eye and lips" into one small beads. But, it was my first time and I'll practice more.
The bunny didn't turn out so bad although it was also my first time.

We're invited to celebrate my extended family (my big Sister)'s birthday party tonight.
So, I made few sparkly beads using gold stone (aventurine) with transparent glass and encased it with clear.
I made several beads just for fun. Ofcourse, I made pinks also maybe for me.

Koala tapestry, Feb 28, 2014

I finished my Koala tapestry project this evening. I started this on November 29, 2013, but stopped right before I went on vacation on December 22, 2013. I made Chinese Panel 1 instead during my trip and finished it first after my trip, then went back working on this Koala.

This pattern is designed by Maddiethekat, measures 5.80 x 7.20 inches (14.7 x 18.3 cm).
It uses 23 colors of Delica 11/0 Seed Beads with total beads of 12,528. This tapestry is made using peyote stitch.

Feb 10,14 lampwork fish beads

I haven't torch for a while. It's been cold and busy. Last night after I got off work, I decided to take a little time to relax and torch. I made 2 little fish beads. I kind of broke one bottom front fin of the orange bead, but they still look cute to me.

The last 2 days have been winter snowstorm in Oregon. I only worked half day yesterday due to the snowstorm and the school let out early.
So I decided to make another fan lamp which reminds me of warmth. Well, actually hot desert.

Swan Fan Lamp, Feb 1, 2014

I found a very cute and elegant pattern online for swan and decided to make it. I wanted something a bit different, soothing colors of sunset. It has 32 pieces of glass.
I think I will give this one for youth ministry auction in May 2014, to help youth ministry to go on mission trip this Summer.

Chinese Panel 1 Tapestry, January 30, 2014

I started this project (and stopped my Koala tapestry project) because I wanted to do this project during my long flights and my stay in Indonesia in December. It has 7 colors, so it's easier for me to do it during travel.
5 weeks later, I finally finished this tapestry.

The pattern is made by Sigrid Wynne-Evans and it's called Chinese Panel 1. I also have her Chinese Panel 2 pattern, and will make it sometime soon (after I finish my koala tapestry).
It measures 4.10 x 10.13 inches (10.4 x 25.7 cm), using peyote stitch with 12,464 delica 11/0 beads.

Jan 25-26, 2014 more ice cream beads and lots of pink beads

I had great time torching this weekend.

On Saturday, I made 2 more ice cream cones : mint chocolate chip and vanilla with chocolate syrup. Yummm.  And I also practice making tiger striped bead which I learned from watching youtube from hotglass channel. Turned out pretty although it was my first time making black and white twisty stringer.

On Sunday, I kind of in the "pink mood" so I decided to make everything pink and with grey combination (my favorite combination color with pink). I made feather bead using pink and grey, learned to trap bubble and using aventurine to make sparkly bead.

I can't believe we're over half way of January 2014 already.
I torched for the first time this year after came back from my trip to Indonesia.
I found the tutorial at soda lime times and decided to try them yesterday.
So much fun and can't wait to do more ice cream cones in different "flavors".

Mill Stream at Winter Bead tapestry, finished November 27, 2013

I made this Mill Stream at Winter tapestry starting October 19, 2013 and finished it on November 27, 2013 (39 days).
This would be a gift for my best friend's Mom's 80th Birthday in January.
This tapestry's pattern was made by Sig Wynne-Evans, using 57 different colors.
It measures 7.70 x 9.27 inches (23.5 x 19.6 cm) using 21,406 delica 11/0 beads.

This stained glass is for Christmas gift for one of my relatives. We're going to Indonesia for Christmas vacation and instead of buying gifts, I'll make 9 stained glass for each of my relatives.

I made this stained glass over the Thanksgiving weekend. I wanted to make something that's unusual but cute. Turned out this one has 39 pieces, the most pieces I've ever made so far and a lot of very small pieces.
He's a cutie and I think I'll keep him :)

Dolphin Fan Lamp stained glass, Nov 29, 13

I made this dolphin fan lamp stained glass for my brother. Actually he asked me to make same dolphin stained glass as my friend, Alexa's few months ago. Since I like to do different things even if it's the same dolphin theme, I decided to make him dolphin in the shaped of fan lamp. Took me 2 months to finish because I didn't have the dark grey colored glass until I had a chance to go to glass store last week.

Beads made during Thanksgiving holidays, Nov28,13

I finally took first time vacation this year for 3 days, in between Thanksgiving holiday and together with boys' days off also. I'll take another 9 days off during Christmas vacation to visit my family in Indonesia.

The last 2 mornings, I torched few beads a day in the early morning. Such a fun and relaxing time to do it.

I learned how to make white bear beads after following tutorial from Mary Bush. Then I played with frits and made tube beads, I made 2 beads with clear-encasing. One of them is like moonlight bead. And finally, I made Christmas tree beads.

White Winter Bear Stained Glass, November 16, 2013

It's getting cold out there!! I made this white winter bear stained glass to keep me warm.
Originally I planned to make regular brown bear, but my friend suggested white bear instead so here he is.
Since I want to keep the bear all winter long, I decided not to put Christmas colors on the scarf and hat.

Fused Glass sushi plate, October 26, 2013

Atsuko and I went to take fused glass class together to make 6x6 inches plate.
It was so much fun. We went to LLLG glass. I picked white plate with pink flower design.
After 10 days, today I picked up the plate and so happy with the result.

Atsuko and I took a glass blowing flower class last Friday evening at LLLG in Tigard.
It was so much fun. Atsuko picked colorful pastel color flower and I picked white-blue flower.
